.........It is now my understanding that the Herding Victor/Obedience Victor
are non regular awards...much like Grand Victor and Select....the whole debate
about dogs with disqualifying faults competing for Herding V and ObedienceV
have hit strong nerves on each side of the issue...my knowledge on award rules
is shaky at best so I'm not sure this idea of mine would be acceptable to the
club......to compete for GV and Select a GSD must first have those 15 points
with two majors ( I've only done that once lol)...well what if we offered a
Herding V and Obedience V only if the highest scoring dog/bitch was an AKC
GERMAN SHEPHERDÂ CHAMPION?....if the highest scoring dog is NOT a champion the
award goes as High in trial and no Victor award is given?........thus we
protect the purpose and integrity behind the title of Victor/Victrix...and
again I was on the side of eliminating the disqualifying fault rule, and I also
admitted I was very close to sitting on the fence ( something I rarely
do)........and changing the subject...I'd love to cut the number of board
directors....which again is all the more reason to have term limits!....Ed Hill
