That's the one that gives me the butterflies. (I'm not worried over the
National/Centennial).
If I understand correctly from Zoe's post we (the GSDCA) gave a $25K
deposit and costs for the week are projected not to exceed $189K. I know the
location is FANTASTC, but I can't get my arms around anticipated revenue. I
have a fuzzy idea that there will be streaming video coverage, folks
(international) can pay to watch and I have a fuzzy idea that we anticipate a
lot
of walk in traffic (????) and we want sponsors and now I know that the WDA
is heading committees.
I read Jeff's post y-day and apparently there is a lot of hiring in his
neck of the woods, and that's super but I can only tell you in my neck of
the woods people are keeping their powder dry.
That's a big bill to cover. This is NOT a knock on the board members who
have and are working VERY hard on this, and Tish I know it's something you
inherited (gosh, does that sound familiar lol????), and I realize when Gail
gave the go-ahead that we weren't in an economic slowdown but...that's a
big bill to cover.

Dan Yee is the chair of the World Trial. There was a column by him in
the
July Review. He was voted on by the Board at the end of April so he is
working now on setting up his committees. It will be primarily WDA
members
heading up the major committees with support, I hope, from GSDCA members.
The World Trial is a very prestigious event and 25 or more countries of
the
world send teams to compete. It will be well publicized in the area to
draw local people to attend. Sponsors are being sought. We have a
deposit
on the stadium and the rest owed will be figured out after the event as
attendance and other things may influence the amount.
The President of the SV, Wolfgang Henke, and others will be here to
celebrate our Centennial and for the World Trial.

I do not think there is a lack of confidence in the cenntial committee but
in the world trials becuase of the stagering cost, the pc members benefits
being cut and absolutely no information about it
