Exactly. Check out the breeding regulations of some of the other breeds! MUCH
more stringent than ours! If we required everyone who joined the GSDCA to sign
the breeders code, it might stop frivolous breeding of pet quality dogs. Also,
EVERYONE should be selling puppies on LIMITED registrations. Even if the dog
turns out to be "show quality", the breeder has the discretion to reverse the
registration. Yes, some will STILL breed the dogs and sell them without
papers...perhaps if we offer some sort of financial rebate upon proof of s/n?
Maybe even a rebate for an obedience title?? Keep the person involved with the
breeder...so that puppies can be tracked. Maybe call your owners a couple of
times a year; just to check in. The public needs to SEE the difference between
an
"ethical" breeder and a BYB or mill.
IMHO, why WOULDNT you sign the Breeders Code? Not being smarmy...just askin...
