you know we all talk about honest judging and we get upset when it is our
perception that the judging is "suspect"...and in my opinion sometimes it
is.....last night I had a conversation with a friend who is also an AKC GSD
Judge...since this was a private conversation Its not proper to give his or her
name here....we talked about the subject of how it is "expected" of the judge
to award best of winners to the sex ( dog or bitch) that failed to reach a
"major" that day...we both agreed that this is WRONG!......if the dog is not
better than the bitch he should not go BOW just to get her major...it is not
honest judging!...if there were not enough dogs that day to make a major...then
that's too damn bad.......same with BOB...don't award an animal a win over
another who is better that day just to give that dog or bitch a major....if we
were doing this show thing right and growing this sport all shows would be
majors...it is none of the judges business if the major held or not...
her job
is to find the best dog each time a new class walks into her ring period, end
of story.........it should be a struggle to become a champion!...you don't get
strong with out a struggle...you can't lose weigh with out a
struggle....anything worth doing well you will struggle to be good at
it......off to school...man I love those kids...FB
