People get caught up in their own little world, and often lose sight of the
"Big Picture". Pun intended.
It is like those who breed for only movement, and ignore temperament. Or,
those who want type and style, and lose movement to get it. Or those who breed
only for strong pigment, and lose those traits that make a German shepherd the
dog it was meant to be.
In Hollywood they often take a chance on a new director, a approach on an
unpopular subject, or an actor who was unproven. Sometimes it works and the
studio celebrates. Some times it fails, and they lose money on the film. Will
Smith has done some great work, and had some duds. I think his Wild Wild West
was not his best movie, but others have shown his talent.
This one may be as bad as some think, or in the late reviews may be seen as
just a different roll. Remember The Rocky Horror Show Movie was panned. Now
it is a cult movie.
