The Best In Show Daily AKC article came out today over the internet.
One of the points or articles is about 'Wickets and Scales' and the
first paragraph states that some Breeds have HEIGHT and WEIGHT
disqualifications in their Breed Standard. It also states that
ONLY THOSE BREEDS may be measured or weighed in the ring.
I did see a German Shepherd Dog judge bring out a wicket and use it
while judging at a Specialty show a few years ago. It sounds like
this is not a legal practice for an AKC show for our German Shepherd
Dog Breed? How is this to be handled if a judge does this?
So much of the GSD or any Standard can be subjective..but I'm wondering
at what level this can be taken to by a Breed Judge.
