All I can say is when 520 people don't renew their membership and entries drop
to less than one in each class for a major and that breed is one of the highest
registered dogs with the AKC
WE HAVE A PROBLEM

Good points, Tina. Many people DO NOT like change. I don't know if that
is it or not.

I respect these thoughts, but my response is this. The issue is not who is
still in the breed. The issue is we cannot keep people and attract new
ones without making changes of some sort. I seem to recall attracting the
working dog people getting debunked recently too. If the only people in
the breed are the ones currently here, do the math. The sport WILL die as
we do.
If you cannot respect people's opinions and experiences and learn from
those and ask yourself "what can I do as a guardian of this breed" to
encourage and not discourage (as many have said), things will continue to
spiral down. As Kathy Tank said, a fact is still a fact even if you don't
like it, though she worded it differently. :)
