I will add that young people, for the most part, are not enthused with
moving a dog around in circles. It's VERY exciting to some, but to
the general instant gratification, fast moving kids and younger than
40 crowd?.... Schutzhund holds some (ooops, it's not schutzhund
anymore is it?), agility is very exciting to some of the more agile.
I check the stats on my CaRPOC page and while this is geared toward
ALL animal groups, education and legislation, the stats lean heavily
into the women over 50.
So if we bring them in, it would be to increase the Agility programs
to a high level. Herding is too expensive for most of the kids and
younger people with families. Obedience is not fast moving enough.
I may be wrong... I often am...
