Too many to expand upon.
Over the past 30-some years, I have known more good people in dogs than bad;
though the bad were REALLY bad!!!
Some of the good:
Grant Mann, invaluable advice and trust;
Chuck & Sally Sedgewick's advice, trust, partnership, and friendship;
Evan & Tedi Ginsburg entrusted me with three of the best dogs I have ever
owned;
Jim "The Old Pro" Norris taught me that professional handlers CAN possess
integrity and honesty;
Cindy Tellefsen reinforced what Jim Norris taught me;
JR Alcantara guided me through finishing my first Champion;
Jerry Guzman handled a completely untrained dog for me at a Futurity, for
free, and has always been most supportive and fun;
Don Kille taught me to not take it all, or myself, too seriously;
Neil Givens showed me what a streaking handler looks like;
Jean Whalen, unknown to me at the time, apparently feeling sorry for my
ineptitude, jumped up at a specialty show to help me double-handle Diana;
Dave and Jan Coleman, who always take me under their wings when I am alone,
out of town, at the same shows;

Oh, my, I am running out of time at work and still have so many more to
cite!!
Overall, I guess that we are a pretty great group of people, eh?

Paula, not Pamela, 343 days and counting, I think

I think The List needs a new thread: I got up this morning to what seems to
be another bitch-fest. Let's turn the other cheek: I'd be interested in
hearing how someone in the breed has done a kindness for you--it could be a
mentor, a friend, an older member helping a younger one, even a
stranger--you get the idea. Who has helped you out in the breed?
I'll start:
1. Years ago, Jane Cooper drove Punky all the way to WNY so I could see
her. She and Dave took time out of their weekend just so I could see (and
buy) one of the best GSDs I ever had. If she and Ann had not trusted me
(not a newbie, but someone who dislikes the spotlight) I would never have
had the pleasure of knowing BIS Select Champion Plainbrownwrapper v
Jada-Edan.
2. Years ago, Ann Barbash arranged for Georgie to handle a sable Polo son
of mine. At the time, I didn't know Ann--how kind of her to think of me, a
nobody!

Those are just a couple: HOW ABOUT YOU?
