I'll talk to you! I have no idea if the Amateur Futurity is going to fix
anything. However, this is what I do know. The current system needs help.
Entries are down. And we need to try something. This seems like a good place
to start, performance entries are way up, and more and more people want to try
to show their own dog. And people can say what they want about a good dog
rising to the top but all things being equal the pro will show a good dog
better. It's why I pay for a handler. I once showed my dog in a show and it
was a disaster I was so nervous being in there with all the big fish. I never
did it again.

And Evan, this is exactly the kind of comment that will hamstring the Amateur
Futurity system, "she wants to learn to compete, not just to win." AHHHHHHH,
it's this kind of attitude that keeps people from wanting to try it in the
first place and then it's a self fulfilling prophecy. A few brave fish try the
water, there aren't many that show because it's just starting up, people say
it's worthless, and soon enough it is indeed worthless.
