Instead of incorporating whites and coats into our current standard equally,
why can't they be treated as a separate part of the current standard and
exhibited in separate classes? There are rough and smooth collies. There are
different colored American Cocker Spaniels and Bull Terriers for example.

I have often wondered why there has never been a push to just divide classes
and let these dogs compete within their own genres and not against each
other.

There are many beautiful quality coats and many beautiful quality whites and
people who love them and would love to show them. They are not my cup of
tea, but for many, it is what they like.
