I'm chiming in now. Diane asked the question and I answered privately but will
make it a list post as well.
I feel the same way Amy and some others do. I think some of the white's are
beautiful, but I would not breed my stud to a white female no matter what her
clearances, titles or conformation is. I just don't believe in mixing the
white's with the colored dogs, period!! As Amy, I don't intend to be rude or
short, it's a personal conviction I have and a right as a stud dog owner to
breed to the bitches I approve. There are some black/tan breeders that would
never introduce a sable into their breeding program no matter what, that
is their right as well.
As far as breeding to or using a monorchid male, falls in the same category as
breeding to a white in my book, will not happen in my kennel. Breeding to a
dog whose ears never came up is something I would not recommend doing on a
regular basis, but knowing the lines and the reason they never came up would
have to be taken into consideration if choosing to do the breeding.
I think most of the white GS breeders respect the fact that some people choose
not to breed their males to white bitches. The fact remains that right now the
white dogs are disqualified and the why's don't really matter. It is what it
is right now, and if the white GS people would like to split off to make it
their own breed, I am all for that. It will stop using the colored dogs in the
pedigrees and prevent people from getting unexpected white puppies in a
litter.

Actually Jackie.....I have no problem with white German Shepherds. some of them
are beautiful like a couple of the pics that someone posted yesterday. I
thought the first three were beautiful dogs. Hey...i might even own one
someday. But I would never breed a female white GS to one of my b/t boys. I
just think that they should stay separated as far as color. I also did not mean
to be so abrupt with you last night. I have had two really bad days here . The
puppies came...everything looked great. Mystery was very nervous for some
reason and I had a little boy puppy that was not doing good right from the
start. I had been fighting to keep him alive and he died last night so I was
not in a very good mood...so I apologize to you.
