Just call him Eglesfeld Spenser For Hire.
The show was about a detective named Spenser (with an s.....as in Edmund
Spenser, poet and author of The Fairie Queen.)
Good name for a dog! Star of the show was Robert Urich...only good thing he
ever did.
There are books about Spenser, too...author is Robert Parker..........a
whole series, actually. I loved the books and watched the show
because of them. Good program. Set in Boston...Spenser was quite
sophisticated..... Well, OK...it wasn't a sitcom, not a comedy
