[ SHOWGSD-L ] What we have here is a failure to communicate

I think the title "pet" has been misunderstood. We just placed Cool Hand
Luke in a home with two parents and three kids. This is a dog that could
easily finish, and would have done well in the National. But, this was a great
home, they were looking for a long time for a good German shepherd, and
Tedi and I felt it was a great situation for Luke.
Luke won Best Puppy in the match we had, and is a great looking dog with
terriffic movement. But, the welfare of the dog is always the first
consideration for us.
We have other dogs we can win with, and if the placement is right, I see no
reason not to consider the best situation for the dog, not the most reward
to us, such as points or ribbons.
Luke is in a pet home. If they want to take him to a show, they can. It
is up to them.
