Ok guess cause it's raining and I'm catching up and sometimes that could be
a problem...I noticed this thread and am very confused by the problem...
My question, not knowing all of the reasons for it being such a big
deal...since you have so many facts about "this guy", have you invested this
much time in your own breeding program, backyard and/or education to
understand breeding of animals...??? The whole Inbreeding/linebreeding etc
etc.  There are plus' and minus' for everything we do...he has to guarantee
them, live with his own choices and stand behind them...
If his dogs are healthy, mentally sound & well cared for...what does it
matter what he is doing...don't we live in the USA??? If we start regulating
what everyone does we become something other than the country that our
forefathers fought for...
Just a question, not trying to be nasty...just not understanding the big
deal.  If you don't like what he is doing, don't buy one...pretend it
doesn't exist, move on & just know what you want from your own breeding
ethics.

Let me be clear. I'm not against linebreeding or  inbreeding, when it's done
for a reason other than the fact that you don't have any other dogs to put
together to get puppies.
This guy is VERY clearly a BYB. He began breeding a few years ago with his
10-year old male and this same female (she is 3.5 years old now). The sire
to this litter is the offspring of those two dogs, and was bred back to his
mother because his father is now 'retired.'

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't breed the father of this litter to one
of his sisters in the near future. The only good thing this guy seems to do
is wait until the females are 2 years old before breeding them.

He does not do OFA or any other health clearances, though, and his dogs are
oversized and he's proud of it. The 9-month old that's the father of this
litter is 28 inches tall already, according to this guy. He says he's
working with the AKC to try and get a new class of GSD within the next 3
years. **eye roll**
