I am the attorney for ARBA, and have been for years.
 
When Bob offered to continue to register the rare breeds that have no  
registry in the United States, he did so to set up a system for those that did  
not have one. He then offered to transfer all his information to the AKC for 
any  breed that they then accepted, and to stop registering them with ARBA.
 
The AKC declined his offer. So, Bob decided to start a full registry for  
all breeds, AKC or not.  He also holds shows for that registry, with the  
ARBA shows.  It is called the Kennel Club USA.  
 
If you are interested, just go to ARBA and learn what fun you can have  
without the AKC.  The AKC has said none of their judges can judge a show  where 
an AKC breed is shown. I think they may have backed off of that  position.
 
I choose AKC because I admire and respect what they do. But, I protect ARBA 
 and also respect the right of others to pick another registry.
