There was a board meeting tonight. Maybe we will eventually hear what
happened, some day. It is still our club.
Now, here is a new issue. One board member is having charges against her
heard next month. So, a board meeting, two weeks later another board
meeting, and in a few more weeks, another board meeting.
In my opinion, this is wrong.
She is our elected judge for the National. The board may decide to take
that away. I told her I would stand behind her, but I don't practice law
outside California.
The club has selected a California attorney for the club. He too does not
practice outside California.
It is up to the members to stand behind the club, and hopefully the board.
If you can't do that, then be heard on your opinion. We owe it to the
GSDCA to not be silent, but to let our voices be heard.

It's still a free country ( this week) nothing prevents the board members
from telling us how they voted , their reasons why , and everything else
going on, but when you act like the CIA or the Mafia..... leaves us to guess,
wonder and bitch! If I were on that board you would not get me to shut up!

OK......I know I can be "a little slow".....but if it is a CLOSED
SESSION....exactly how do we "hear now what they do"??
You have to have been on the Board to know what a tough job it is! IT IS
TOUGH!! AND...I do not recall any "perks". Most of the time we got in
Friday and worked Friday nights, and started at 8 am Saturday mornings and
worked till at least 5 pm or later on Saturdays and back at it on Sunday
mornings at 8 am until we had to run to catch a plane home.
I have total respect for all the Board members and their commitment to
serving this Club....but there is NO WAY I can ever believe there is a "real"
need for so many closed sessions!! Nor do I agree with ANY decision
coming out of any session that literally takes the National away from 1/3 of
the
members that can simply be resolved by location. I cannot see how it will
help the National, nor public education, nor members nor the Breed when it
limits 1/3 of the dogs from being shown by staying with a location that is
a hardship to the same members year after year.!! Those members and those
dogs will cease to be an influence on the Breed...and that is not a good
thing. We will have a more limited gene pool for our dogs ...and will
become more limited for new ideas and mem_bers! It does however promote
and benefit Purina GREATLY!!!
It appears we are taking on more than this Club can handle financially
trying to go in a specific direction not asked for by the membership. But
then......how can you ever hear the members when you are always behind
closed doors <G> I really do feel bad for the Board members that DO care
about the members and the fair rotation of the National and the promotion of
our own American Bred conformation dogs. They too are taking the brunt
of the blame. It would not be that way if they were not in closed
session and we could see the vote!!

.
Tonight is another board meeting, and a closed session. I am anxious to
hear now what they do. I do think we put a lot of pressure on them with our
letters and phone calls. Evan
