Recently, I asked Chuck this question..... he said he'd research it. Scenario.... We have 18 yr old gravel runs. They are well maintained with new gravel replacing the gravel that disappears each time we skip out the runs. We bleach these runs periodically. There is big 'O' piping snaked all through the runs so any water (such as rain) doesn't accumulate, it drains through the gravel and is flushed out of the runs via these pipes. QUESTION: What happens to the antibiotics or dog wormer that is expelled from the dogs into the runs? What kind of accumulation buildup is there and can it hurt my dogs. Could it interfere with pregnant bitches... how about infertility.... or other concerns? I asked my Vet yesterday this same question and the answer was.... that the drugs administered to my dogs and expelled is accumulating in the runs if they are not cement and washed down. The wormer is still full strength... so to speak, and so too would be the antibiotics. WOW..... short of cementing, what should be done to safeguard my dogs from past medications? Any one have any brilliant ideas? Kate Syssoloff Rockannand ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2005.
