I was on the board when this was done. There was a treasurer who did a
good job, but didn't have accounting experience it was Tom Sherman. The board
voted to make this a requirement for any treasurer in the future, and it
has stopped some from being considered. I assume before anyone is nominated
now, the requirement is noted.
I don't think there is any other requirement for any of the other officers.
Having written checks for over 50 years should be sufficient. Maybe I
should have run. Maybe next time when I have had an additional two years of
experience.
