Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] What I am thankful for
My goodness people, I never seen so much back stabbing as I have about
this election. And this isn't even a paid job. It could only mean that
some people are so power hungry that they will stoop to any level to
achieve that end. Well it's just about too late anyway because no
matter what "nasties" you've got to say, many people have already cast
their votes, and many others are not even on this List to read about all
this "poison" that is being fed to those who are naive enough or even
care enough to listen. Anyway because there is so much negativity going
on lately, I wanted to ask you.........just what are you thankful for?
I'll start with my own list and you can feel free to add to it if you
like. Perhaps it'll put us in a different frame of mind.
What I am thankful for:
1) I'm thankful that when I've seen a recent picture of Joan Ford who is
about 79, she looks like she's 60 and is still active in her dog
breeding and showing. We can learn a lot from this beautiful lady who
is still, thankfully with us. And I'm thankful that I never read any
negative things about her or Fran.
2) I'm thankful that although I was in a car accident, that I'm still
walking and am not in a coma in a hospital somewhere.
3) I'm thankful that I have old friends and new and family who means
more to me than about anything that is going with this election.
4) I'm thankful that I or anyone that I personally know of wasn't in
Hurricane Katrina or the earthquake in Asia.
5) I'm thankful that I'm still learning and also still contributing.
6) I'm thankful for my dog "Amber" who has changed my life around for
the positive.
7) I'm thankful that God allows me to accept the things that I can't
change and also that he gives me hope for the things that are yet to
come.
8) I'm thankful that I get to vote for the GSDC of America's election
and help shape the future of our breed.
9) I'm thankful to own the best breed of dog in the world and that they
always teach me what it means to live life with dignity because of their
nobility.
10) I'm thankful that although we lost so many great friends of the
breed this past year, that God has given me the grace of another day.
11) I'm thankful that although I didn't get the Review today, that I
also didn't get any bills.
12) I'm thankful that if you read this far, you didn't push the delete
button yet.
So come on everyone, stop gripping, grumbling, moaning, and complaining,
and stop ripping your fellow man apart for you never know when someone
else will be added to that list that memorials are written
about..............count your blessings and be thankful. Barbara
