As a judge, I've had the handler of a dog give me a copy of a Veterinarian's certificate explaining a wound. This can be done for broken teeth, a torn ear, or the like. If the dog is a great one, it will win with most specialty judges when the judge is able to discern an accident rather then a genetic problem. As for posternum....I for one love a beautiful posternum and find a dog "lacking" when there isn't one. I love beautiful curves, depth of body, good croups and a flowing outline . I do not like a lot of leg and harsh angles.
