Back from the "Garden" and I must say although we didn't get a piece of the
action in the Belgian Malinois ring we had a great time.

The benching was different this year; as long as you were benched with the
herding breeds you could set up anywhere. Well we managed to be privileged
enough to bench next to the absolutely handsome GSD named "FLEX". His pictures
just don't do him justice.

Personally, Being that this was our 3rd visit to Westminster I liked the
benching much better than in years past. You were able to pick where you wanted
to be and you were able to set up your grooming table and have it up all day to
use as a chair, table, buffet bar or what not. Ours was used for all of the
above. I enjoyed being with the Shepherd people as I didn't have to hear the
"nastiness" of the Malinois judging. We had a great time with Teresa and her
husband, Paula & "company" with handsome Harley Davidson, Becky Fleming,
Christi,  and Kathy Murch who came from NJ to meet & greet everyone. We were
able to have our dogs out of their crates more and they were able to relax more
than in years past. I guess if I had to find complaint it would be that we have
to stay until 8:00pm. Makes for a very long day when you show at 8:00a.m.
IF my Kala ever disappears from my yard, I will be hunting down Kathy Murch as
she has fallen in love with her.

The only thing I found disturbing along with several other people were that we
witnessed a "top" handler cramming handfuls of pills down the dogs throat about
2 hours before Group judging. I guess they either needed to calm the dog down
or
"pep" her up. If you are going to do this you should keep the dog in it's crate
so no one can see you.  As we all stood there in shock we didn't know what to
do. I wonder if the owner knows his dog is being drugged.

That my friend will be why my dog will NEVER go away with a handler. Not saying
that all handlers do this, but I am not willing to take the chance of them be
overdosed on doggie "uppers" or "downers".

Anyway, let's stop and watch the rest of the show, this time I will be on my
own
couch not in a hotel room.
