[ SHOWGSD-L ] Westminster Kennel Club vs. Murphy's Law

Well, I can't believe it all myself, but, perhaps someone is making things a
bit difficult for me?
Two months before Westminster, I lose Harley's most recent handler, the one I
have pictured in thousands of dollars worth of ads in doggy publications.
I come home to a broken doggy treadmill.
Harley starts blowing coat.
This past Thursday I came home to an inch of water throughout my
house.......slab leak!! Whole house needs to be re-piped. Old galvanized
steel just ain't cuttin' it!
Mother Nature keeps pounding my route to NYC with record-breaking storms and
snow fall.
I have fairly serious health problems which must be dealt with very soon, but
AFTER Westminster, of course!
So far, first problem is solved. 4 different handlers are willing to take
Harley in for me. Jorge Oliveras won. He and Susie are very excited about
this challenge and are fun and are very helpful and supportive to work with.
Second problem is solved. Treadmill company stands behind their product and
sends brand new motor for free, even though my warranty was over and done with.
All they wanted was for me to send the broken one back to them so that they
could see what went wrong. What a wonderful company!
Third problem solved. Biotin to the rescue!
Fourth problem sort of solved. Though I will "dry camp" in the comfort of my
house for the next week and a half, the insurance company will re-pipe my house
(circa 1964) while I am at Westminster.
Fifth problem? Heaven only knows. PLEASE Gaia and Punxsutawney Phil....bring
calm, clear weather just from the 11th through the 16th and I will never
complain about the weather again, never!!!
Sixth problem is just another battle to be faced. I have good drugs for now.
:-) No problem, after all, yesterday I celebrated 15 years in remission. 15
years is THE benchmark time for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Bring it
on................for now, I am WESTMINSTER OR BUST!!!
Harley is looking good. Reservations are made. Tickets for "The Addams
Family, the Musical" are purchased and received. Dinner planned with Texas and
California friends and family on my birthday, the 12th, in NYC.
I will keep ya'll updated, as possible. I won't have my computer, as the Hotel
Penn has a ridiculous price for internet connection. I will text message those
of you who are used to my texts! :-)
