I hope maybe someone on the list can offer some advice or have some ideas about
my dog. About 4 days ago, my husband noticed my dog whinning when he moved.
The next day, we took him on a trip and when we reached the destination, we let
him out (1 hour drive) and he could hardly walk. It was like he had lost total
control of his back end. He was dragging it around and his toes draggin on the
ground as well. We called our vet ASAP and got him in. Our vet has been right
on every diagnosis so far. He did not seem so concerned. He said that the dog
had injured himself and that he had some inflamation in the back, and it was
pressing on the spine and vertebrae. He gave him an anti inflamatory and sent
us home with some anti inflamatory pills for 5 days. He seems to have improved
but I am worried sick, it is not him. He just does not seem to be himself.
The vet said to put him on total rest which we have, and so far he seems to be
doing ok. But he still drags one toe. It is weird because he went from
running after his squeaky to not moving hardly at all. He is 8 years old and
been healthy as can be. He also had a tick and I asked the vet about that but
he said no. Does anyone on the list have any experience with this type of
thing at all? I am worried sick.
