Jeff's idea is excellent, if there is an individual that would be willing to do
that, it makes so much sense.
Our regional club purchases the airline tickets for our judges and it has saved
us lots of money over the years. I recently heard of one case where the judge
waited too late to make flight arrangements and cost the club a lot more
money. There might be times when that can not be avoided, but if the judge is
hired in plenty of advance time, that is truly just wasting club money, the
same for PC Board meetings. They are often times set for 6 months to even
a year in advance, so flights should be purchased with enough advance notice to
save money. I also thought Molly's idea of the within 5 hour driving distance
makes sense, unless a flight can be purchased for less than gas money, which at
times could be possible if the ticket is purchased with enough advance notice.
Some really good ideas, the scale down of board members over a two year time
frame makes sense and is a very fair way to accomplish a necessary change.
