Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] We lost a Great Champion today, And a Greater Friend to
us
We are heartbroken to share that today, we lost a GREAT CHAMPION GSD, AND A
FAMILY MEMBER. I am shaking and crying and I can't believe I have to say
this..but we lost our BELOVED Ch. Victory's Leviathan today. He was the big
,plush dark dog, that wowed us with Group wins, and Specialties. When we
thought it couldn't get any better , he took his little boy Hunter and
taught him to be a hander, with love and patience. He and Hunter gave us a
memory of a lifetime, with their performance together at the 2010
Nationals, Jr Handling. Even better only a few months ago, "Levi" and
Hunter won a Major Best Opposite Sex, at a Specialty, taking that honor
behind his Uncle Bill who went Best of Breed.
Levi ("Me My" ) was our only Champion Nitro son. Levi was not only
beautiful in structure, and movement, but in SOLID GSD character, and work
ethic. He was the plushest dog I have ever seen that was a stock coat.
Levi had a brief illness with what Dr. Butchko suspected from xrays MIGHT
have been a prostate mass with some kidney involvement. He was strong and
ate and played and was silly until yesterday.
He didn't want to get up. He only got up when his little boy came home from
school, and rested his head on Hunter and looked into the eyes of his
tearful little owner, and said what I know was.."Goodbye, Hunter, I will
always love you" He said Goodbye to Ken, and even managed to grab a toy and
give me one last round of "Rarrrwww Rarrrrw Rarraw" as I grabbed his big
crest of a neck and played , "Gimme that ball"....
I took him to our wonderful Dr. Butchko, who even met us outside, so Levi
could have his final moments in our van, rather than in a clinic. To my
surprise, and I admit a bit of a chuckle at the big old booger, when we
were approached by Dr. B and his technician...Levi let them know "NOT SO
CLOSE TO THE MOMMY" and a flash of white teeth. Right to his final moments
he
had my back.
The heartache is enormous, and our family can NEVER replace him. His little
boy, whom he taught and protected is beside himself...
He was an ambasador for the breed, a guardian, a family member, clown and
great showdog. I hope that his father was there to welcome him over.
We are devastated...beyond belief. Goodbye "Me My" , we love you so damn
much.
