In other countries they keep dogs mostly in kennels, and for the  show 
ring, work or conformation. 
 
Here in America, we want the dog to live in the home, be domesticated, and  
still have the beauty and brains to show.  I remember judging East German  
German Shepherds which were to remain overly aggresive to anyone, including 
the  judge.
 
Let's face it. The breed was not established to show.  But, we,  Humans, at 
the top of the food chain, get to decide what we want from our  dogs.  I 
know that some people find fault in that, but to me, I do feel  that dogs are 
to serve man, not the other way around.
 
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
