Appreciate Lew Bunch posting this on the List.
We have checked in and watched it off and on when we come in.
We kind of like the 'casualness' of the show...people everywhere,
even in the ring and toys in the ring.
But...they obviously do not care about a nice easy long striding
gait for herding....as you just CANNOT find it anywhere.
Beautiful animals with wonderful temperament. Striking how much
the dogs look alike. Almost all have beautiful coats, reddish color,
great heads, nice bone and most have nice long saber tails.
But....
Nice easy trot with suspension off of a nice rear drive and front
extension? ......NOT SO MUCH!! <G> VERY restricted.
More like 'dredging' dogs....trained to pull HARD. No one has to
run fast to keep up...so it appears almost anyone can handle? You
just need a STRONG left arm.
Almost all have toplines or backs as angulated as our rears. <G>
Necks seem to be short and set on low.
All that is OK I guess....as long as the wicket fits. <G>
What I do like...everyone seems to really like their dog...instead
of them just being a commodity.

Is anyone watching the live stream from Purina? I have not seen any
comments. There is an impressive entry and the dogs I am seeing are pretty
typical of the dogs you would expect to see at any German Show-line style of
show. You might want to watch as an educational experience.
