Frequency of worming is also a factor to the environment you have your dogs
in. When I lived in Canada, in almost 30 years of having dogs I never had
hook or whip worms. Had one case of tape worms (only 1 summer did I have a
flea problem) and only saw round worms on 3 pups.
Living in the southern USA has changed that considerably. Fleas are almost
a constant. Fungus and parasites are rampant so I changed everything I did.
Of course, I do ivermecton monthly, but I use the sheep drench, not the
injectable.
I alternate between Frontline and Advantix as the darn little critters seem
to get immune if you use the same thing all the time.
I use panacur every 3 months. Strongid on pups until they are 4 months,
then panacur them at 6 months.
So far so good.....but it is a steady battle.
