Looks like Pam and Denny have moved closer to Fred. They used to live 5 miles
from me on Old Plank Rd in Wixom.

Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Walking Down Memory Lane
Just brought in my new issue of "Purina Today's Breeder" magazine from my
mailbox, and thumbed through the whole issue until, on page 37, the name
"Kenwood" leaped out at me.
I read the article and, much to my surprise, it is about a dog bred and owned
by my old friends, Denny and Pam Doyle, of Kenwood Kennels in Brighton, MI.
Remember Ch. Kenwood's Epic (full brother to Eko-Lan's Paladin), his dam,
Eko-Lan's Glory, ROM, and the many other beautiful Kenwood GSD's in Michigan in
the 70's and 80's?? Well, the same Doyles apparently now breed ASCOB Cocker
Spaniels and had the BOB at the ASC Summer National Specialty!! From the
Classes, he finished his championship.
The article states that Pam and Denny have bred over 50 Cocker champions under
the Kenwood prefix!!
Small world, eh?
Anyone know of other successful GSD people who went on to succeed in other
breeds? The only ones I was aware of were the Keyes. Nanhall Kennels used to
be GSD's and now they are successful breeders of Schipperkes. Nanhall's Julip,
ROM, was in the Parade of Greats at my first GSDCA National back in the early
70's in Kentucky. I see that they now have a Schip named Nanhall's Julip, also.
Oh, and Jimmy Moses is now successfully showing Poodles, but, I don't know if
he is breeding them, too.
