Any judge who has judged for more than a couple of years, knows the
temperament of what they are looking at. We don't need a temperament test, (or
as
I refer to it, "the long stand and stay"). A simple look at the dog and
in his eyes will tell you all that you need to know. But, it is important
that you not make a mistake. Maybe the dog is sound, but just nuts, or maybe
had a bad day driving to the show, and is angry. So, we all do the loose
lead temperament test, then judge the dog on our knowledge and ignore the
test.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
