Depends on when it was. There used to be a rule that said a dog on the grounds had to be shown (no matter what class or classes) but that rule was changed some time ago. As for not being shown in Open on the day, the judge was wrong. The dog could have competed there..just not in Winners. And THAT rule has not changed in my time in dogs.
