This morning.
In my last litter, one of the puppies born in the middle of the puppies was
teeny tiny. No more than a half a handful (of course she was born into my
hand) and even before she was all the way out of her momma, even when she
was still in the sack, I was worried.
The first few breaths were labored but then she was fine, but with 8 other
siblings and her half the size of the next smallest puppy, there were quite
a few round-the-clock days, me sitting in the whelping box every few hours
making sure she got her fair share.
Ok...more than her fair share <G>.
Well, if she didn't grow up to be pretty....so much so that she stayed.
Today, I watched my 10 week old puppy "Flirt", play in the leaves,
shoulder, shoulder, shoulder, iron back, pretty, pretty expression, suspension,
nice follow through and yes, on many levels I had goose bumps.
Flirt is quite a pistol though I must say. Good for her, she may not have
made it otherwise. Why is it that the boys are sweet and the girls are
little toughies????
And off to handling class later with her year old 1/2 sister. She's a
pistol too. I wonder if anyone will notice in all of that hair that she's
going to be wearing a prong???? And yes, she'll still drag me around the
ring. But maybe, just maybe I can get a fraction of her attention, lol!
