Right now, there'd be no penalty. The way some of the proposed bylaw
changes have been suggested, if approved, there "could" be a penalty.
I read an interesting column in the Gazette this month re one of the breeds
that requires breeders to chip puppies before they leave and I guess they
somehow report the #s to their PC, so that if anything ends up in rescue, they
can trace it back....my first thought re our PC members was "never happen".
Not that it's a bad idea, it'd just never go through...
The old tug of war over perceived "rights" and being told to "do what's
right". Should be interesting to see, despite all of this drama, just how many
"teeth" in the bylaws, breeder's code and perhaps a code of ethics our (very
libertarian!) membership will go for.
