Sounds like security going nuts again. I have never felt so insecure as I have
since they ramped up all of the security efforts.
I find mailing anything anywhere can sometimes be problematic. Between thing
being screened, re-routed and just disappearing into some vast black hole
somewhere, it sometimes feels like playing roulette. I got a piece of mail back
that was mailed in Portland to California that had postmarks from Atlanta,
Newark, and Seattle before returnig to me 35 days later. And then there are the
people at sorting stations who believe "Beavercreek, OR" must really mean
"Beavercreek, CO" or Beavercreek, OH", regardless of the zip code. I try to
remind myself that most mail does get to where it should, but sometimes they
make it interesting.

There's something very strange happening with the mail in Sacramento. I
have
had 2-3 of those same things happen to my mail in the past 2 months, except
mine arrives in a clear plastic baggie and outside there is a sticker which
said, "Screened by Post Office.." on one side and on the other side,
a
yellow/orange sticker that says, "passed".
I handle waterdogs for a very high profile attorney in Reno. About every
other month, her check is lost in the mail. 3 weeks ago, she received about
4 checks back in the mail (TO HER but addressed to me) which we had stopped
payment on in the same type of packaging saying "Screened at Senate
Postoffice Colonial Station Sacramento CA".. Nothing else, but all
returned
back to her which means they never hit my mailbox.
Just last week, I did a ringside pickup on a water dog a few weeks back. The
couple lives Oakland, I live in Sacramento. It's only about 65 miles from
their place to mine.. they placed the check in the mail and it was post
marked June 20, I did not receive this check until June 28th. I coudlve
walked to Oakland and back in less time.
Who knows the mail is such an issue in Sacramento, but I have filed 2
complaints, (you cant file them locally, you have to file them with the
department of Consumer affairs and they will "get back to you")
