Hi Michelle;
If you mean exactly what your first sentence says.....then you should have a
Herding
title on all your dogs?? Our Breed is the most versatile Breed in the world in
my
opinion
and can be used for all kinds of work....but part of that reason is because of
their
strong herding instincts that can be directed into all types of work.
Does the SV Standard require a herding title? The GSD are in the Herding
Group.
It seems to me that the bite work required for the SchH titles that is required
in the
SV
Standard would give our Breed an even more "dangerous image" in this day of
BSL laws.
Possibly it is the 'bad mouthing' of American Bred dogs as being not sound
because
they
lack those SchH titles that is part of the reason for the poor public image
If you believe we must have a C.D. on every Champion or a SchH 1 to a SchH 111
to be
worthy of being a Champion.....then we should also ask that all these "titled"
dogs
also
become AKC Champions before we deem them worthy of those titles. Seems fair
to me.
