I thought antibodies from disease passed into the regular breast milk just like allergy resistance and hormones naturally; plus drugs and the like that get put into mama dog. So, the maternal antibodies wouldn't start to run out until the pups were fully weaned. I'm extra grateful to know my pups are generally nursing 5 minutes after they're born. :). Just enough time to dry them up ribbon & weigh them. I'm also from the school that putting the pups to nurse helps stimulate labor by the nursing stimulating the natural production of oxytocin.
