Pat,
You are so right about this being disgusting!!! I remember my
Anatomy/Physiology class in College. We were required to dissect a dead cat.
I was sickened the whole time. Honestly, I learned NOTHING from this. I was
in Nursing school...NOT Veterinary school. I could honestly see these kind of
things being VERY necessary for Veterinary school..but certainly not the High
School level. I hate to say it, but in Nursing school we then went to a morgue
and watched several autopsies. Now, this I learned at. As sickening as it
was, I learned ! There are quite a few colleges that are doing away with the
use of animal dissection, replacing them with interactive viewing through the
computers. Not quite hands on, but more intense. These kind of things are
where PETA should step in, NOT the goofy things they are into.

Well, this just made my day....and we are worried about grammar,
punctuation, and spelling on a dog related show list. I am sure some
"educators" may feel this is quality education for high school students but
I feel it is disgusting....anyone have any links to protest this type of
education for high school students to observe....wonder how many kids come
away with the knowledge that it is "ok to cut open a live animal and let's
see what's in its stomach"....I am going back to bed and now I know why God
did not bless me with children....I would probably have raised them "dumb as
stumps" !!
