[ SHOWGSD-L ] Update on the dog fight

Talked with the neighbor this am. The little dog survived with many, many
stitches. I had heard 20 at first but looks like she had almost 50 sutures to
her rear legs and neck. She is still at the vets. No internal damage so a
good thing.
We found the Rottie owners who stepped up to the plate and gave us their
info. They agreed to pay the vet bills. The son had a bad puncture wound to
his
leg but he is ok too. The Rottie owners said the dogs had been to dog parks
and never reacted that way. They were shocked and upset. They are going to
get the dogs into training.
The owners of the little dog have no desire to press the issue. They realize
they became complacent as none of the immediate neighbor dogs had an issue
with their dogs. So, not the best if situations, but at least the dog will
survive and the Rottie people did the right thing. I hope everyone learns from
this.
This is why I have a miimum of 2 gates my dogs would have to pass to get out
in the street. I have no desire to have them be the aggressors or recipients
of a dog fight.
Anyway, I am happy the little dog will be ok. She is really sweet, unlike
the long-coat Doxie they have. He is evil and would've been killed in a
heartbeat.
