Oh boy :( Your description sounds like clinical EPI. There is a Juvenile
Pancreatic Insufficiency that my young male [9 mo.] was diagnosed years ago. We
found a pharmacy that provided pancreatic powder [they ground it themselves],
and my boy regained his weight after recovery. However, it was a lifetime of
meds.

Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Unusual Problem
I have a young bitch who has developed a problem I've never seen before. We're
off to see the Vet tomorrow, but I thought I'd ask if this is something that
one of you may have seen.
Last Tuesday, we noticed that her stool was not quite as firm as it usually is,
but it was still well formed. The next day, she had a huge yellow soft stool.
Now she's having 6+ giant stools like this a day. The really unusual thing is
that her stools don't smell like feces. They have no odor at all.
She's also developed a voracious appetite. Despite this, she has gone from only
her last rib showing to all ribs showing. This is a tremendous amount of weight
to lose in a few short days. I don't believe that she is digesting any of her
food at all. We have tried extra probiotics with no success.
I know that some of you may mention EPI, but I didn't think that severe EPI
could develop in just one day. She had no symptoms of malabsorption before last
Wednesday.
I am so worried.
