I know why Ed mentioned adding the water. :-) If you put water in some dog
food it can swell
up to 2 or more times the kibble size unless you have the excellent dry dog
food.
The dog food from Fromn I put hot water not boiling in it at each feeding
and it does not swell does not change much at all except gets softer. :-)

2012 this Veterinary college did a study on GDV ( Bloat) and
published it in the " Journal of the American
Veterinary Medical Association " . The study pointed to
kibble as a significant factor with the increased risk of
GDV; kibble increases fermentation of food in the stomach
causing the risk of gas build up and bloat. The thing that
made me remember this study is a private conversation with a
great GSD breeder this morning about parasites in wild game
meat, and wolves getting bloat ( do they?)...... Wish I
would have remembered this when I did my video on the raw
diet! I'll be sure to put it in my article on this
subject in an upcoming breed magazine ... Try this
experiment. Get a large glass or metal bowl, put two
cups of your favorite kibble, fill the bowl with
water... Wait an hour and see what happens...... Now do the
same thing but this time replace the kibble and use three
pieces of raw chicken.....I have another experiment but most
would not be able to handle it! Ed
