stay at an RV park several miles away.
Our Nationals was at South Point or South Center (can't remember which one)
Casino ( has a big horse facility. It was very nice but I think it was
difficult to work all of our venues into it.) Everything was on dirt
(conformation/obedience/ agility) The obedience folks had a hard time because
it is
difficult to clean up all the pee/poop/liver treats off of a dirt floor after
conformation. Conformation folks weren't necessarily thrilled with running
their dogs on dirt (everything had a fine layer of sand on it). Tracking was
held at a location 150 miles away. Dogs were not allowed in the host hotel
and
had to be kept in the stalls.
I personally would NEVER go to Vegas again EVER! It is a dirty filthy city.
There is no place to potty your dogs unless they are used of going potty on
pavement or bare rock. There are very few hotels that take dogs. We stayed
at the Super 8. It was ok- but dirty- and not in a great neighborhood. Not
bad-just not great. There is a Motel 6 that takes dogs but I don't know
anyone who stayed there. The Microtel took dogs. The people that stayed
there
seemed to like it."
While we were checking out the hotel we talked to a few exhibitors at the
Aussie National and the most common comlaint was the footing in the ring
(hardpacked dirt) Sod would solve that problem.The RV park, The OASIS, had 200
spaces reserved for the Aussie people. THe RV park had a HUGE grassy area
fenced
for exercising dogs and there was a shutlle bus that went from the RV park to
the hotel every 15 minutes from 6am til 8 pm.
