The footage would have made a strong man cry. They have no idea why these
poor creatures are "downed"...and to think that it is acceptable to torture
them by attempting to pick them up with forklifts, or hit them with cattle
prods
is beyond barbaric.
Aside from the OBVIOUS...that sick animals are getting into our food
chain...it is just another glimpse into brutality that is at large in our
country;
brutality that is going unchecked.

I had trouble watching it, but we do have to realize that the people that
raise cattle for us to eat, do not become attached to them. They are a product
to be slaughtered and given to others to scarf down over a draft of beer,
while watching a ball game on the radio.

I don't like to see how sausage is made, but I sure love it on my pizza.
The cows being so badly treated were a product to the owners, to be sliced
diced and ground. It hurts me to think about it, so I try not to.

We can't expect the slaughter house to give to these animal the attention we
give to our kids and dogs, although some of todays kids, might need that
treatment. I don't like what I saw at all, but I am sure they don't like what
I
do in court. We need to have some understanding of the business, and to
realize that to them, cattle are like wheat to us. We don't cry when we cut it
down, grind it up and bake it. The recall was not so much that the meat was
treated badly, but that it wasn't inspected. It does sound better to think it
was due to the misstreatment of the animals, but that isn't the truth.

I still don't want to know what happens before my steak is wrapped in
plastic and cooked by Tedi. I also don't want to know what happens in
congress to
make a law. I know that makes me a bad person.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.
