Thanks, everyone. The consensus is to leave it alone unless I'm having some
other surgery done and then I might get it repaired.

Never had one repaired ....never had a problem.
You only need to watch while the omental fat still slides in and out.....
once that little knuckle of fat scars in, there is not a problem.
