I should have phrased better evidentally. I have shown and won under Linda
Robey and think she is a good judge from my limited experience seeing her.
I am speaking in general and saying that it should be ok for all of us to trade
information about our experiences under judges...and that judges should be held
accountable for their actions, just like the rest of us handlers, breeders etc.
....and that while we need to support our clubs we also need to start
supporting only the fair judges.

While I agree with you that hurting your club is unfair, I also think that it
is absolutely all of our jobs to make situations like what happened in Florida
public knowledge. Obviously your club did not know anything about that
situation and you decided to have her way beforehand anyway. However, Tom
letting everyone know what happened in Florida saves a lot of us time, money,
heartache etc. Why would I want to go waste my client's $$ under a judge that
is so blatent in her choices. I won't. I have my list - trust me! lol
And while I very much agree with Laurie about supporting our Specialty clubs,
we
also have to make a strong statement to judges that make such decisions. Don't
show there.
The only way to make our system work is to support the good & fair judges and
NOT support the ones that are not doing a good fair job.

Hello Listers all........
I have several problems with this post by Tom Castriota.
The German Shepherd Dog Club of Central Massachusetts is a small
but very active club. We work very hard to put on a first class dog show
every year. It seems to me that this post slamming a judge and naming
our club is blatantly unfair to our club.
We routinely ask our exhibitors for suggestions for judges for
our
upcoming shows. Judges are selected a year or so in advance. This judge
was highly recommended by one of our regular exhibitors.
If an exhibitor does not like the judge, he/she does not have to
enter
our show. It is grossly unfair to publicly slam the judge and by default,
the
club that has assigned that person to judge.
I have not shown any dogs in breed or obedience for years and do
not
have any personal axes to grind. If someone has an ax to grind with a
judge,
do not try and destroy another club's event to get even.
List members, please read Tom's post and take it for what it is.
