The Anconeal Procees is shaped like a triangle. It is smaller then a thumb
nail. This triangular piece of bone can be surgically removed and the dog will
live a normal life. You will see the elbow/front leg rotate out slightly when
the dog stands. The earlier the surgery, the less chance of calcium deposits.
Softie that I was, I did have the anconeal removed, the dogs neutered, and gave
them to wonderful pet homes. They lived to ripe old age.
