Hi Susan;
We beat this horse to death a few months ago and I directed you to the photo of
the
sable dog on the 2004 Rescue calendar and reminded anyone to slow-mo the video
of
the National tapes. The GSD touches down with the rear foot first AFTER the
period of
suspension and a split second later the diagonal front foot touches down as the
rear
foot begins to drive the body forward.....( this is the 'one two' of the two
beat
trot )
Same with the split second that the front foot is the sole support of the
dog....and
this is
just BEFORE the period of suspension.
I would like to direct you also to the GSD FAQ'S page on our web site of the
full

trot sketch, and the photo at the bottom........this is the GSD dog at a full
extended trot.
Check out the 2004 Calendar and our FAQ's page and tell me this is not a
trotting
GSD.
I can send just the page to make it easy if you want. ( I just sent it to
you...)
It is a misconception of many .... including Linda Shaw....to think the GSD
lands on
both
rear foot and the diagonal front at the same time at a trot. It does not.
