My last leg trial with my intact GSD was quite interesting but annoying as
well. Thank heavens he behaved & received his third leg. It was held out
doors & was told by a couple of people that in the early morning hours
people were using the ring to practice & play in. Peeing in the ring,
dropping treats & who knows how many bitches were in season. The way the
intact dogs acted it was horrible! I think rings as that should be monitored
before trialing. I understand the obedient dog should watch its handle &
should be proofed by then. But that day a lot of interesting/disappointing
things happened to those poor handlers. Three intact dogs just totally lost
their train of thought by smelling the ground & were DQ's, two ran out of
the ring. Then there are other times I've trialed & that judge watched their
rings as if they owned them.

obedience ring with my first GSD, he smelled a bitch in season just outside
the ring, and he was off lead, so off he goes with me chasing after him.
Fortunately, I got him before he bred her. . . .
