[ SHOWGSD-L ] Training

The local ALL BREED Club (Lawrenceville, Ga) has it's on building with a large
work area. they offer training sessions 3 days/week 3 sessions per night. Basic
Obedience, intermediate, and advanced, Rally (same levels, Show handling and a
puppy class.
Now the local Pet co and some others offer a basic obedience and intermediate
at 90-100 dollars 8-10 weeks (same as above). The club offers the same class a
the same price OR 1/2 price if you are a Club Member; also the CGC test is
free.
They also have matches, "Get to know the Breed", Breeder referral, 2 picnics
and an Annual Award dinner. At that dinner they give out plaques to every
dog/owner who has earned a SHOW Champioship or working title including CGC;
they co-sponcer 2 All Breed Shows Annually and have over 100 ACTIVE MEMBERS and
a LEGAL LAISON that works with state and local governments. Dues are $45.00/year
So the secret to getting and keeping members is the training classes!!

I know we have several CGC trainers on this list, so I'm sure they
will post. But if clubs offer CGC training classes, it does help the
public
