My elderly mother was driving with her 6 year old and 2 year old
grandchildren in the car when she was rear-ended while stopping for a
red light. My mom and the kids were only slightly injured. Thank
goodness. The car was totaled.
The guy who hit them decided to fight the ticket claiming that my mom
stopped "too early" for the red light. He lost in court when he
admitted he was talking on the phone at the time of the accident.

There was a time when I thought that banning the use of cell phones
while a
person was driving was a silly thing... now, however, I wish that law
existed everywhere.
I have discovered, in the past few years, that there truly are a
tremendous number of folks who can't talk on the phone and drive at
the same
time........actually, I think most of them can't drive and think at
the same
time.......
